Friday the 13th strikes the Whittakers

A wonderful Breakfast with the Navarro's
We all went to the new park right by our house.
Sohaila learned how to do the fire pole.
Then she went for the monkey bars.
Yeah, the monkey bars didn't go over so well.
S for Sohaila
She is drugged up on Demerol, in a happy place. She broke her arm, obviously. Both bones are broken on her forearm and one has a fracture.

My heart aches so much for her right now! I pray she has a strong recovery! I know that a broken/dismangled arm at a young age does NOT feel good.

What is that, some sort of big egg sandwich? That thing looks tasty, where is it from?
Oh, and sorry about So, nothing hurts more then when your kids are in pain.

(re: good mom c/o Tammy's blog)

Give her a kiss for me!

She is too sweet to be in pain. We're praying for her... and you. Was it Friday the 13th? Good thing I didn't remember or find out ALL DAY!

sweet baby girl, that is so terrible. Hope the mommy is okay, as well.

Don't you just want to hold on to her and never let go? That was what I wanted to do when Ken broke her arm. Now that she is all healed up I have to force myself not to be too over protective with her. I hope Sohaila is not in too much pain (when the Demerol wears off)and that bath time is bearable.

what is it with pastors kids and broken arms lately?
i broke my leg when i was 5 and i remember driving to the hospital saying "sorry mommy, sorry mommy" as i cried and then passing out when they reset my leg.
look at the bright side she'll always know when the weather is changing. right now my leg is telling me theres rain in them there clouds, or at least a lot of pressure.

Yeah, Dawn would all too well feel her pain. I'm feelin yours mom. That is so not fun. Dawn was really lucky though hers wasn't a break it was a total dislocation of both bones from her hand and we were blessed with a really good ER doc. that was able to put it back it place. That pic of her arm looks like the breaks were really bad. I'm sure Sohaila will be ok eventually but in the meantime our love and prayers go out for her!! Gramma's really hate it when little one's have to hurt!

Poor sweet girl!!! I know what an awful feeling it is to see your child in pain and there is not much that you can do. H, you are such a good mom that you will think of something fun to make of it. I wish I could have when Alexis was sick. Tell her that we love her and that we are praying for her...and you...big time.

Don't you wish they came with bubble wrap? Seriously, nothing is worse than a boo boo you can't kiss away right away.

It was awesome to see Sohaila running around at Church today as if nothing was wrong! We are glad she is all right.

I think it is rad, sick and wrong that you guys posted a picture of her arm....how cool are you? Thanks for that! You seriously boosted your "cool" on that one!!! Hope that she is feeling so much love though and that you are doing well too. I know that it can be crazy stressful.

Eeek! How did I miss this post? My 4 year old just did the same thing at the end of last year (what is it about 4/5 year olds and monkey bars?): http://monavoir.com/2008/01/15/my-arm-its-ok-i-only-use-it-half-the-time/. I got a picture of the coolness that was the cast, but forgot to get the "s" picture - of course I don't think Jacob's was as bad as Sohaila's - I hope she's back to normal now, even if Mom is a bit junglegym-shy!
