THERE'S PURE JOY IN MY SOUL

There are things that make me happy, and then there are things that give me JOY. Pure, giddy joy. The kind you feel Christmas morning, the kind of joy that lifts all the worries of life away.  It started on Thursday when we left for Fresno (we are going for my 10 year H.S.reunion) we did not leave Riverside until 10pm and we had a 5 hour drive ahead of us, so there was no question we needed caffeine. Starbucks it was. I ordered the pumpkin spice latte. I took one sip and it hit. Fall, cool weather, the excitement of the holidays to come. Its just that time of year that just makes me smile. But that was not all, when i woke up the next morning  it was raining! Not So Cal rain, Fresno rain! Oh it was AMAZING! I was ready to worship! There's nothing that says God to me than seasons and Fall is here! Anyways it only gets better we had lunch with our best friends and to top that off it was at Dog House. The only restaurant that knows how how to do Tri-Tip right, and if you are from Fresno you know that there is a difference. Oh the Joy keeps going. We left for the Fresno fair. Nothing  screams fall more than the Great Big Fresno Fair and nothing  screams the Great Big Fresno Fair more than their cinnamon rolls. Yumm! I am overwhelmed with JOY by this time. What a wonderful day. It was topped off by spending the nights with the Hales! We woke up and make cookies with the girls.

  Then went shopping and finally ended up at my parents ranch. The girls love it here.

It makes me feel sad that I live in the city, they just thrive here. What a day. I am as full as I can get.

Joy. What a great way to bring in fall. I love it. Too many people get all bummed about summer ending, but I'm with you - AMEN to the changing of the seasons! Crisp clean(er) air, the fireplace at going at night, and sleeping with the windows open! Fall and Winter are great.

I haven't had the full blown HIT yet. Some leaves are changing, it was drizzly the other evening, we have begun the hot cocoa mornings... but I'm still watering & mowing grass, still able to go out without a jacket, still have to turn the airconditioner on in the van. I do love the joy of Fall and Winter. I'm looking forward to being knee deep in snow and pelting my husband with snowballs as he runs for his car in the mornings. I can't wait to make Wassail and fill the house with scents of cloves and cinnamin. And the excessive snugglin' that occurs in this season is enough to cause anyones joy to overflow ~ but it isn't quite time yet here. I'm glad it is happenin' for you!

going to the fair tonight and last night we went on a walk to a chinese restaurant and it was cool enough for me (big deal) to wear a sweatshirt. gotta love it. it was great seeing you guys, wish we could've done something more fun than hang out on the couch, but that's just the kind of friends we are. oh, and i want to hear about the reunion. Did you take any pictures? who did you see? well, i'll see you friday anyways.
