Yes! Their both mine!

Img_9812 So often I hear the question "Are they both yours?" I don't quite understand the question but my typical answer is " yep same mom same dad."  The other day I was out at Kaiser and then a quick stop at the store and before noon I was asked 4 different times. "Are they both yours" The last girl who asked probably was just trying to make small talk when i practically yelled "WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP ASKING THAT?" Poor girl, I guess i just don't  get why people phrase the question the way they do. Maybe they should ask "Are they sisters?", or "How far apart are they?" but instead I get " Are they both yours?" I really can not wait to get and when people ask I'll reply "yep all mine just different dads" I will really have fun with that.   Or maybe i should phrase it with "I'm not bias, I got around to all the different ethnicities."

You are soooo...funny! BTW...I love Karen Kingsbury too. Peggy got me started...now I can't wait for the next one to come out!

I forgot to mention...that if you and Carlos ever decide to have another natural child, HE will probably be blond with blue eyes...you never know! tehe

I think that you should always make them wear shirts that say "my parents sleep around...that's why we don't look alike"...how 'bout that? So anywho, I remember you posting on this once before and it made me sad then too. I don't know what the heck people are thinking...but I do know that you are fabulous and I Losiah and your girls are honored to have you as thier parents.

1.Pink cast! No fair!

2. I was at the Gym with my Hubby, Owen and Kendra the other day when a woman started yelling "that is not yo baby, that's his baby, but that is not yo baby" She said that in front of several people, twice, and I was totally embarassed. Normally I would say "no she's both of ours" and leave it at that. But because I was so annoyed and kind of wanted to teach the lady a lesson, I quietly said "actually she is adopted" Guess who was my new best friend after that? She came over, put her arm around me and told me how wonderful it was that we adopted. Mmmm Hmmm. I will probablly never say that again because Kendra is getting older and I don't want to make her feel different or alienated from our family. But maybe now that lady will think twice before she speaks!

And hey, at least you are prepared for when Losiah comes home!

Heather...I'm sorry that people say that to you. That must be annoying.

I was talking to Cyndi Mitchell recently, and she said she gets asked that all the time about her 11 kids. So, she says "they have different dads". HA!

you should tell them that you're just trying to get on the Maury Povich show.

My first pastor was black and his wife was Latina...their two sons looked just like their daddy, no mixing involved. She was always asked if she was the nanny. She just laughed all the time. I am constantly asked if all my kids are "all mine". "Same daddy?" "You married?" and "How OLD are you?!" Geez, you'd think you never saw a married Latina that wasn't a teen mother with six kids that all belong to the same daddy! :)

I get the same questions...my beautiful kids...MY beautiful kids are wonderful, and hopefully a lovely mix of me,their Scottish Dad, and English Mom of Jamaican/St Lucian descent.

My girl doesn't describe me as "white", but "yellow & scratchy". Hey, I can live with that.

Peace & Blessings

J :-)

You're awesome. Who cares that they look a little different. They are beautiful just like their mamma.
