Woke up and had a little Hale time.
Re Re (my sis) got suckered into playing princesses.
This is my Pa I love him. He has made me ME! This is
his new adventure. Some kite thing. This kite is a training
one, but it looked more like the kite was in charge not him.
I love that he is 50 and trying new things.
Thats what I want to be doing!
The best part of this picture is the YEE HAW that came with it.
And finally a stop off at Nani's on our way home.
The are a million things that Sandals does differently than most churches. One thing that Matt makes sure of is to recognize the pastors wives. To love on us, support us and encourage us. Being a pastors wife is tough. Its a job that has no income, is very stressful, it takes lots of time, and it is like no other job in the world. I have no one who could understand the role except those who are in it. So this weekend was our yearly pastors wives getaway. We were pampered, challenged and we formed a bond that is like no other. What a great weekend. Sorry about the picture we it was from last year but I did not bring a camera.
This is Grandpa Jack. He passed away this afternoon. I met grandpa Jack pretty much the second I moved down to So Cal. See he came along side Matt and Tammy and supported them while they planted Sandals. He would drive 60 miles each sunday to come to church. I was his seat "girlfriend" . I don't ever get to sit next to my man at church so Jack would always fill in. We always sat in the front row. No matter where the church has met Jack was up front. This is a really old picture of sandals but there is his little head at the bottom of the page.
Some of my favorite memories are...
The way Jack would just cuss like a sailor. See Jack was in the
military and learned some habits if you will. He became a christian
later in life and some habits are hard to kick. It actually was great.
Jack also would send you cards and he would always include those
little christian encouragement cards. The ones that you get in sunday
school with the little cartoons or words of encouragement on them.
One think that will always remind me of jack is that he would fill in his letters on the bulletin. While we listend to the sermon he would color in every letter that made a space to fill.
And last but not least i will never for get the time that Grandpa
Jack gave his testimony at church and was so pumped that he decided to
jump off the stage. He landed flat on his face right in front of
everyone. Then bounced up and said "I'm ok"
My heart is sad! I will miss Jack, but I know no one will miss him more than the Matt, Tam, and the kids. I pray I can be a "grandma" like that. H
Tammy is neck deep into planning the womans retreat for this year. We have been doing a lot of discussions on it. She has asked me to brainstorm on a certain topic but none the less my wheels are spinning on so many topics I can't stop. I am not much of a deep thinker but now that it has started I have been asking myself, who am I, what do I desire out of life and what is important. Well, yesterday I put one of my answers to my question into action. My family is important. I live with in 2 hours of all 3 of my grandmas, I love them all and want to capture as much time as possible with them. So we piled in the car around 1pm drove 2 hours to Oxnard just to spend the evening with my Nannan. She spoils us rotten, has amazing stories and is the picture perfect grandma. I had a great day.
I have to say that My Girls know how to have fun! Summer and I (and Tammy) organized a B-day party for Tammy and it was really such an awesome night.
Best Friends...
Ladies in the spa watching the Notebook...
And Lots of lots of food...
Really what else do you need? It was Great. I hope you felt loved Tam, cause you are! H
My sister surprised me with a spa day at the Mission Inn for watching my nephew when she delivered her second child. Wow! I wasnt the one to have the baby and I got spoiled. So last night I went and to be honest it was the best spa place I have ever been to . Heiu was the my masseuse and he was great. I loved it. I got a bath, massage and facial. With each treatment they made sure they did not miss anything. They went into great detail. Anyways props to Mission Inn. Its a great present. Thanks sis!
P.S. Carlos asked me if they bathed me. And the answer is no. They drew the bath and had a fresh plate of fruit and chocolate and you were there by your self. I just thought I'd clear it up. :)
The day started with the plan to take the "young" kids to Disneyland. We got there around 11am and left by 12:30. We went on 2 rides and said it was enough! It was so hot, and crazy busy!
I am a snob when it comes to Disneyland and having to wait in lines is not something I want to do. So we went with plan B.

The Beach! We made a quick stop at Target to get swim suits and towels and then we had a GREAT Day!
I had to take a picture of this. It made me laugh at my girl. You see went to bed with socks on and sometime during the night she took them off. But look at what she did with them. She did not just kick them off like we all do when you cant stand them on your feet anymore. NO she took them off and neatly stacked them up on the bed. OH she is so stinking cute. Thats my girl. H
We kept looking at each other and saying we have 6 kids at home. .
This picture makes me laugh because we were sitting by the entrance to the club on these couches and we wanted a group picture. So Carlos waited for someone to walk by to ask. In walks this group of older ladies and he walks up to one who looked obviously uncomfortable in this "young" club atmosphere. He holds out the camera points to us and asks her. Then she looked at him and said NO. Then onen of her friends in the group came over and took the picture for us. As soon as the first lady saw her friend take the picture you could tell that she was embarrassed. She came up to Carlos and said she was sorry and that she miss understood him. So Carlos walks back to us and says I just got turned down by and old lady. The lady thought Carlos trying to pick her up and was asking her to go and sit or something. Oh it was funny.
This picture makes me laugh too. If you are a girl in a club at Vegas you need a male body guard or else there will be boys up on ya. Carlos and I don't go out to clubs and so it was fun for me to see my man have to fight for his girl. Truth be told Eric was more of our bouncer that night. Thats what makes this picture great he kept pulling us in.
I was talking to and old girlfriend yesterday and without her knowing it she made a comment that made me feel bad that we are always going somewhere. See her and her man never and I mean never go anywhere. But that is one thing I love about Carlos, its something that when we dated we did. We would just take drives and explore different places. When we dated we explored local cities around us. Now that we are married we have been exploring and traveling mostly to different states and I cant wait until life allows us to explore different countries. Its just us. I love it. H
