MLK

With Sohaila in school you really don't know what she
will come home and tell you about. She was in love with
MLK this year. She gave a detailed account of who he
was and why he died. She woke up on Monday morning
insisting that we bake him a birthday cake for him. She was
also very concerned about the shots that we were getting for
Africa because MLK died because he got shot. I love her. H
that's precious.

How funny. She doesn't want you to get "shot"...a "shot". Sweet girl.

Oh my, I can only imagine what was going through her head.
This language can be so confusing to a child.
Like when I told my daughter (2 at the time) that I was going to go "jump" in the shower.
She looked so confused and than said "I want to jump too".

What a heart of compassion she has. Isn't it so amazing how God makes their little minds and personalities grow.

Sweet innocence. My kids at school are obsessed with MLK too, but sadly enough at 4 they know what getting shot really means. I bet they read Martin's Big Words. If not, it's my favorite kids book about him!
