How many do you have?
To be so honest the Whittaker household has to own at least 100 pairs of shoes between the 5 of us. I would not be surprised if it was not more. Today my spoiled self was put into place. This sweet baby boy did not even have a pair of shoes that matched and even worse they were both left shoes. Wow. Can you think about that for a second. What would your life be like if you did not even had a pair of shoes?

As I sit here in comfort thinking of my closet full of shoes I am heartbroken. I thank you for being there and bringing us the blogs. My coworker told me not to read this if it is going to make me cry. I NEED TO READ THIS, I beleive part of the problem is that we just turn away. We need to see this and keep it fresh in our hearts and minds. I want to be there rocking these babies and lovin' on them. You are doing a great thing. I sponsored a little girl in Honduras for several years and quit because of finances but during that time I didn't get the in my face reality of poverty and the contrast of a sponsored child and a non-sponsored one. I will be finding a way to sponsor again. Thank you for your heart and I will be praying for all of you.

Oh man...I don't even know how many shoes I own. Even my growing boys have several pairs apiece. Breaks my heart...I'd love to just package up some and send them! Bless you all for all you are doing!!

It is so sad to think that little children don't even have shoes. When I think about all the flip-flps, tennis shoes, dress shoes, and all the many shoes that I have, I feel so horrible for the children who have no shoes at all. It really makes me think about helping others with the money I would us to buy shoes.

Hi,
I can't imagine life with only two left shoes. I am a guy and regularly wear about 3 pairs.
By the way, I noticed in your post you put the hyperlink across the word "here." If you put the link around "sponsor a child" that benefits Compassion because search engines like Google will more likely show Compassion as the first result for that keyword. At least, that's what the "SEO" people told me. I know it's a small thing. Not a big deal. :) Enjoy your trip, God bless, and don't listen to me. :)

I have too many pairs of shoes...yet I consistently think to myself, "wow...I need blah blah blah..."
Thanks for reminding me of the difference between needs and wants.
