Crap, I can't stop!
It's been a crazy past year one, no it has been crazy last two years and I have not had time for much TV. If I watch something it is usually during my lunch while I eat. I have been a follower of LOST but then when we moved into our new home, adopted Losiah, decided to leave everything we have known and move across country, well LOST got lost!
Until this week.
I have been stuck, I am living up to my mans explanation of a stay at home mom ...sitting on the couch, eating bon bons and watching soap operas all day. I am not watching soap operas but I am watching LOST. I can't stop! I love ABC and the streaming video! It's a good thing my kids like to play together for hours!
Have you ever watched a show marathons style? What show?
The Sopranos!

Several years ago (... maybe a decade?) some channel ran a two-day marathon of Charlie's Angels. It was awesome!

Allen and I are pretty stuck on LOST, too.
The funny thing is that I think it was by choice (Allen's choice). With ABC streaming video online, we started season one...
I wish he would've waited until summer to get this going because I stay up too late to watch them with him. I can't stop either.
I think I'll be doing the same as you this summer though when I have more time for bon-bons and the couch.
:-)

just curious...what's a bon-bon?
Posted by: cathi | April 29, 2008 at 02:53 PM
Not a tv show...The Godfather movies. Once you start, you have to keep going. It's like 12 hours.

okay...i'll admit it, one day when i was pregnant with kaia i did watch the "newleyweds" marathon (yes, w/jessica simpson & nich lache) for a few hours one saturday. hey, it was like 110* oustide and i was like 7 months pregnant and she's pretty entertaining (or at least i thought so at the time).

Friends! I love that show.

I only get to see my SO every two weeks (he lives in San Diego and I live in Orlando), and everytime I go visit, we spend at least one day on the couch catching up on "our" shows (you know - the ones we only watch together). It's mostly SciFi, like Dr Who, Torchwood and Stargate, but we also watch Lost and Two and a Half Men. I'm pretty sure that makes us two lazy dorks, but hey, it floats our boat!
Posted by: Nikki Jo | April 29, 2008 at 03:05 PM
Definitely! I could watch hour after hour of "HOUSE," and I HAVE watched 4 straight hours of Seinfeld before...
When my oldest daughter had colic as a baby, I would sit and watch reruns of MASH and Designing Women 3-4 episodes at a time! (It was like, 1:00 in the morning)

We are into Lost as well, but I do have to say that this season we are becoming less and less interested. We also like 24 and Alias.

i watched the first two seasons of lost that way - and every six months or so i go on a friends kick where that's all i watch - my friends can always tell because i start quoting it ALL the time. hey props to you for throwing one of the coolest 6th birthday parties i have ever seen - that cupcake S was PHENOMENAL!!!!!

Sex And The City as well as Frasier

Yes, I have seen every episode of LOST, and I started over the Christmas holidays.
I did the same thing with Alias and 24. In fact, I won't watch it when it actually airs because I can't stand the suspense. I did this with Heroes, but I lost interest in that one pretty quickly.
Now I'm into Chuck.

john & kate + 8, monk, CSI, 24 the list goes on and on :)

Believe it or not I have never seen one second of one episode of Lost. I bought Dan the first season when it came out on DVD thinking we could get into it since everyone was saying how great it was. I figured what do you get the man who flies on airplanes 2 weeks out of the month??? A show about a plane crash....brilliant. Needless to say he never opened the package and I forgot to take it back and get my $50.00 which was now years ago so it is sitting in our closet unopened... Maybe I will regift it. heehee.

24.
We watched the first season on DVD.
Started on a Friday night, watched 4 hours, went back to Blockbuster, BOUGHT the other DVD's, watched until 2 AM.
Saturday got up around 12 noon we couldn't take it anymore, and started watching, and didn't stop until early into Sunday morning.
Now if I could, I would watch a prison break marathon.

Actually, it's my preferred way to watch shows.
I just watched all of Lost this spring. I did the same thing with the first three seasons of 24. (not this spring, but marathon style!) And the first two seasons of Veronica Mars. And the first two season of Grey's. Completely devoured them.
Unfortunately, I've never had the patience to wait for a show until after it has finished its run. I was going to with LOST but then the writer's strike happened. I guess I will with Battlestar. :)

Every year, we run a fireworks tent and during the first few days, it is TOTALLY boring...so we pick a tv show we haven't watched and start from the beginning and just see how many episodes we can make it through before we get busy...first year: ALIAS, 2nd year: GILMORE GIRLS. 3rd Year: LOST (This coming summer is our lost season) we are totally excited to start watching a new show we haven't gotten interested in but EVERYONE is talking about ;)

I got into LOST on a road trip out to Oklahoma before we moved here. My wife and I watched it in the car nonstop for about 20 hours to get into the show.
Now, we can't miss it! It's my favorite show out right now.

We are soooooo addicted to LOST. We've been watching since season 1. We have started watching Eli Stone. It's a quirky show but it's amazing how each episode addresses a deep morale issue or flat out talks about God.

Hey Heather,
first off let me just tell you how much I love reading your blog!!....Love your family traditions and absolutely love the new banner!
That being said,....I am addicted to Lost. Been a loyal watcher since the beginning. I watch project runway by marathon only!
Miss seeing your beautiful family at Sandals - but so glad to see you settle in and give your time and talents to the lucky people of Atl.

I watch a Soap ;). No bon bons though... trying hard to LOSE weight! I watched the whole last season of Jericho pretty much one right after each other. SO sad that show is over!

Anne and I did the first 2 and 1/2 seasons of Lost on DVD, and I finished season 3 online. ABC HD streaming is great.
Recently, I did the entire series of Arrested Development on hulu.com.

a year or so ago I rented Grey's Anatomy by the season and had my own private marathon! Oh, it was heavenly! I even took it with me and watched it in the back seat of my van one time while I waited for Hannah during dance class. When a couple of the other mom's figured out what I was doing, they hopped in and joined me!
Love DVD marathons! Enjoy yours!

Girl I'm addicted to Lost too. I found this site that has old seasons on it and in like 3 days time I've gotten halfway through season 2. So I totally understand where you're coming from!!! I LOVE that show too!

I have done a few 24 marathons, a starwars marathon, and a lord of the rings marathon

I did the same thing! We watched most of the first season of Lost and then did a 40 day fast from TV. When I watched it again, I was so lost that we just dropped it altogether. But when we moved here to GA things were crazy but I would watch a few of my favorite show on the internet. Then there was the writers strike. I was caught up on all of my regular shows and had nothing to watch during naptime or late at night. So in about two weeks I watched all the Lost episodes and got caught up. Now I am waiting every week for the next one like everyone else! Now I am doing 24 the same way. I am getting the DVDs from Netflix 5 episodes at a time and watching starting at Season 1.

ha! i do this!!! now it's lost, it used to be heroes, and before that 24, and before that alias... how sad. at least i go 6 months to a year without becoming addicted to a good show like crack!

LOVE LOVE LOST! We never miss an episode... if we can't watch it when it comes on we make sure it is in Tivo... isn't it awesome?!
Posted by: Angela | May 01, 2008 at 01:45 PM
the only show i did the marathon thing with was SMALLVILLE. i know, i know...what a dork, right? i started watching mid season 4 and decided i needed to start from the very beginning. i borrowed my little sister's friend's DVDs and went to town. 2 weeks later i was finally all caught up. the house was a disaster and the kids were a little smelly, but i knew that story line backwards and forwards baby!

When I was pregnant with Kayla, my first, and working from home, I would watch the re-runs of Dawson's Creek since I didn't watch it when it was really on. It came on twice a day, and I watched it from Season 1 through the final show!!! What a couch potato I was!
I also have watched Alias and 24 from start to finish on DVD. It's awesome with no commercials!!!
