Three for three!

Img_8924
Monday... Ticket in Nashville for expired tags
Tuesday... Pulled over for speeding, got a ticket for that, then another for expired tags, plus two other ones for not transferring my license and plates to Georgia.
Wednesday... Pulled over yet again for expired tags.
I have been pulled over more in the past three days than I have been in my whole life.

I have to admit that I laughed really hard at your expense after seeing this blog! That is hilarious! But not...at the same time, cause that is a lot of money that you now owe. dang.

Not a good week in the vehicular department for your family. I don't know if vehicular is a word, but I like it.

I guess GA's no joke with the drivers license thing.

Duh, I just realized what is the rear view mirror. Was that the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time?

that SUCKS.

I can so relate to your experience with the continual expired tag tickets upon moving to a new state! My husband and I just move to Chicago, from Tulsa.

Smarty there decided it would be 'cheaper' and 'easier' to get new plates in Chicago and not update our Oklahoma tag that expired in February. We moved March 30th. In Chicago, street parking is the norm where a garage space can run you an extra $30-$150K!

On April 1st we got a ticket for expired tags. We couldn't get updated tags because we didn't have a lease or house contract yet.

On April 2nd, we got a ticket for expired plates. We managed to 'hide' our vehicle in someone's garage overnight.

At that point, it would have been 'cheaper' and 'easier' to have purchased the updated sticker in Tulsa. But I love him, so I apologized for the mean thing I said to him on the phone.

Signed,
Feeling your pain in Chi-Town

i love that you took a picture of the cop behind you...i wonder if you can get a ticket for that if he had seen you. ahhhhhh, the risks we take for a blog post. :)

oh man! Did you try crying? That worked for me once! lol

You are a woman after my own heart...first thought on seeing blue lights? GRAB THE CAMERA QUICK!

Sorry for your Georgian difficulties...thanks for sharing.

I was in downey hangin with a friend, and got pulled over by the Po-Po. I was given a Fix-it-Tickit. No record, just get it done.

So i was with my friend we were on our way to get coffee. Well that got cancelled. So i dropped them off and started heading home.

On the way back (the same street i was pulled over before just an hour later) I reach a stop light that is Red. I stop and see that there is a cop car is in the left turn lane next to me. Yup its the same woman that pulled me over an hour ago. I'm thinking i'm safe because there it's her i won't get pulled over. I check my rear view mirror and there is a cop car behind me. The light turns green and the police lights turn on.

so ya, i got pulled over twice in one hour. Fortunately i was lucky and only got away with the Fix-It Ticket after everything was said and done.

When we moved to VA, I had MA plates. As soon as I got my VA plates, I got pulled over - for going to slow at in pea soup fog. I think the cop wanted to see where I was going and where I lived - I was 3 miles from my house... I was almost home. He asked if I had been drinking. "No sir." Then I thought.. But I'm going to have a huge glass of wine when I get home!
He told me to have a nice night... Yah... Thanks.

Bless your heart!! You and Carlos have been having lots of trouble with (or in??) cars lately! Great pic...I don't think I would have had the wear withal to even think of it...until afterwards, of course. That's when I would have googled some sort of image, you know...for effect! ;-)

if i knew what tags were it might make more sense... anyone wanna enlighten me?

I just read this today, ironically.

In our family, both cars are in my husband's name and thus tags are due on his birthday (which just happens to be less than a month before Christmas). So, needless to say, we end up with tickets for expired tags almost every year! But, the good news is, if you mail in a copy of your tag receipt when you get one you only have to pay a $25 fine. That sure beats the $75 you'd otherwise have to pay!

By the way, I LOVE that you took a picture of the police car in the mirror! That's hilarious...

Ow! You don't have to pay for ALL of them, do you?

My tag is expired right now. Man, I got to take care of that! It's getting the darned emissions inspection that makes it such a pain.......

For those not of the South, tags are the stickers that go on your license plate to say you have paid your fees for that year.

Connor: I may also have this lost in translation, but "tags" in my lingo (I'm from Michigan originally) mean a little sticker you put on your car's license plate. You need to renew them each year, and they are a different color every year so that policemen can spot if they are current are not. Of course, when I moved to Oklahoma, "tags" to them meant the actual metal license plate and not the sticker. That was a fun conversation with the rude lady that worked at the tag agency...haha.

Heather: I've only gotten one ticket for a car accident when I was 18...but I've had friends go through crazy ordeals that include getting frisked and almost thrown in jail, just for not using a turn signal. Seriously. The cops in Big Cabin, Oklahoma don't mess around, I guess.

Good luck!

Whoa, Rebecca beat me to it! More concisely, too. =)

Wow...maybe Nashville and Atlanta police just need to be a little lazier. In my city it seems like it's impossible to get pulled over for anything. I have driven at least 10 miles over the speed limit during my entire driving career and have never had a cop give me a second look, let alone be meticulous enough to check my tags. Sorry for all your tickets! At least you have a great story to tell now!

I really feel for you. I got my first ticket ever last week doing 52 in a 40. I tried to tell the officer it was my first one in 40 years of driving. He wasn't amused. Got the bill today. $158. OUCH. Got our tax refund today too. Easy come, easy go...

Are you having better luck today?

Oh that really sucks. Nothing like that feeling in your stomach when you see those lights behind you...and 3 times in 3 days! I think I would be having major anxiety. How did he know how long you've lived in GA? Here we had 30 days to get our stuff changed but I've always wondered, how do they know?

Dang honey that sucks big time. I hope the fix it tickets all work out well with no money and I'm sorry about the speeding ticket guess they're not as nice out there as they are out here in FL.
On line traffic school would be good and easy so I hear.

So sad, No cop today! I was so excited because I saw one behind me on the freeway but he went by to fast. H

Get your new tags and go to traffic court with proof that you've taken care of the problem. You'll probably get those dismissed, but not so much on the speeding ticket.
Man, I thought Texas cops were bad. I guess "Don't Mess with Georgia" just didn't sound as good as "Don't Mess with Texas."
