Bye, bye little birdie...
We had our memorial service yesterday. Carlos played a lovely song, said some nice words about our dear friend, and then some of us shed some gut wrenching sobs. Ok maybe not some of us. Only Sohaila, but dear lord they were from the deepest part of her soul. Heavens, it was only a bird. I can’t imagine when we actually loose someone we love. Any how it was lovely… Good bye little birdie GOOD BYE!
I love that you give attention to helping your kids learn how to deal w/ those big life issues. So many parents don't take the time, and just dismiss their kids' feelings. Death (even if it is a bird) is such a huge issue at that age. Beautiful picture.

ashlee named one of the fish from the pond George and gave it a head stone (painted rock ) so after that i told her we gave them aways. When we moved she asked if we were going to dig him up and take him with us to put in our new yard. that was 2 years ago just before her 13th birthday.
