My first and probably last

Wow,  we have been so busy. I have had my grandma here, been sick and well, I have three kids... that's enough said. Carlos has been working crazy with the Drive conference, and truth be told we needed a break! So I was a little sneaky and asked our roommates if they could watch our little ones while Carlos and I went to Franklin TN, to go to our good friend Randy's wine tasting. All week we kept it a secret from Carlos.  Anyways I played it off till the last minute and surprised him. He was so excited. Oh, the joys of leaving your kids at home! Just the thought of a 4 hour car ride with silence was beautiful.  And it was. Just lovely!
We got here had a great lunch in downtown Franklin with Chad and Jen, then headed over to Randy's where we took part in a wonderful wine tasting that was to benefit Kalein. The collection of wine that we tasted was donated to him and each wine was at least a $100 bottle and a couple reached above $1000. Many vintage and quite tasty. However it was probably the first and probably last time I will ever have a glass of wine that cost so much! Our friend JVo posted the list on his blog. We mingled with lots of fun people and had a great night! And now the best part of this weekend is that it is 9:44 am and I am still in bed!

There were about 20 great people, plus some fabulous food.

This is our great friend Spence and  Micheal W Smith.
I will admit that his music is not on my playlist, but the
fellow is pretty HOT!  He even made People 's Magazines
50 most beautiful people!  H

Vicariously living through you this weekend, Heather! Sounds like SO much fun. And how fun for Carlos after the week he had: surprises are the best. Thanks for sharing the pics...and yeah, Michael W. Smith belongs on that list.

That sounds like the best! I just recently started lurking on your blog - I got here through Carlos through Flowerdust...Bizarre small world connection - I went to college with your friend Spence (he wouldn't know me - he was a big man on campus!).

I'm just a tad bit jealous. As a wine lover and a Michael W. Smith lover, I would soooooo have loved to have been there too.

Hugs and Happy Mother's Day

Did you candidly take the picture of Michael? ;)

Yes I am on a first name basis with him. haha.. Not really, I just didn't feel like writing W. Smith. Wait, I just did so.. I might have just said it. I was just curious, not like there is anything wrong with candid shots.

Have a great weekend,
Eryn

I'm a new lurker, too - don't remember exactly how I first found your blog, but I check your husband's when I can. I live in Nashville and Pete Wilson (http://www.withoutwax.tv) is my pastor.

Why was MWS wearing a ball cap at a wine tasting party?? I know Nashville is a casual city and all, but good grief.

A nice little getaway is sometimes just what the doctor ordered. Nina and I are heading up to Toronto on Thursday to see The Cure. A nice 4 hours drive from Michigan, but it will be nice to just be with each other and adults for a bit.

Awesome...

if you come to back to Riverside, hang out with the Kirkpatricks and I might be able to steal an expensive bottle of wine from one of the wineries out here. (I am playing a piano bar at one...so...)

How cool--looks like fun! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

confession...I used to have MW Smith's poster hanging in my bedroom, that is, until my husband made me take it down.
Ok, seriously, my adolescent years were full of rockettown and go west young man...oh, the antiquity of it all!

Oh, the plans I had to marry Michael W. Smith. Cathi, I bet we had the same poster. I can't count the number of times I watched that "Secret Ambition" video, or sang "Pray for Me" at church camp. HA! And I have to agree with you and People magazine...he's still beautiful. :)

haha. nice.

you didn't look close enough. You have ALWAYS been in the Link Love. BUT now... you are on the sidebar *Blogstars section. All b/c I know the power you hold.

We heart you guys!

Hope to see you all again soon.

My first concert was MWS and DC Talk... I was such a nerd!

I saw that Michael W. Smith and DC Talk concert, too! 1990 or 91, was it? Michael was sporting some seriously big hair back then.

Hey Heather!

Thanks for stopping by my blog...I'm going to put you on my blog roll. You have a pretty cool banner yourself! And mine is of me and my two best friends from graduate school. We're in a Brooklyn neighborhood, boutique shopping. The little boy in the stroller is my Korean Godchild.

Love what you wrote about the event. I just blogged about it as well. It's the blog-talk of the town!

Happy Mother's Day! Loved hanging with you and Carlos. Keep in touch.

Hope you had a great Mothers day. I will make to ATL someday I promise.

Michael W. Smith was at your wine-tasting??? That's crazy! Did you talk to him? Was he nice? I am such a nerd. I would have been so star-struck!
