Like I said before - those two little girls are growing up in a giving family, they are so generous. Giving up their hair is such an act of unselfishness. You and Carlos are doing such a great job!!! and I love you very much. I'm so proud of you Sohaila and Seanna!!! XOXOX Abue"LITA" ;O)
ok, so when my mom took me to get my haircut for the first time...I got the boy bowl cut. Add a striped shirt and I could have doubled for Opie Griffith.
Okay, I just figured it out - you guys did it for Locks of Love. That is soooo awesome!! I am a Pediatric Oncology nurse - so you have now stolen my heart. I recently shaved my head on TV to raise money for Pediatric Cancer Research (with St. Baldricks Foundation) - my daughter was very impressed. You have taught your daughters so much today. All I can say is THANK YOU, it means so much!!!
Low-country boil - you throw shrimp, corn, potatoes, sausage & sometimes crawfish in a big pot with Old Bay Seasonings. Boil until done then spill out in a middle of the table for everyone to dig in! Best done outside. It is great fun.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!
How did you find the strength to cut those gorgeous locks???
I am sure the struggle to keep the tangle out and the fixing every day was a big contributer but WOW you guys cut off a lot of hair!
They look soooo cute. Very fun for summer.
So cute!!! Reading your blog has made me remember all the awesome things my mom did when I was growing up. It has been fun to watch and makes me want kids.
Seanna looked upset in some pics but hope she's feeling happier now! It's meaningful and really gOod to have them participating in this kind of donation when they are little! Totally agree w/ Los that you are molding them well! God bless your family Heather! Have a nice weekend!
ha! someone mentioned a "bowl cut." I have a 2-year old pic of me sporting the "Dutch boy" look. oh, if only i had a mom who went for a cute bob! they are really timeless, and soooo sweet on little girls. yours look precious.
I love short hair on little girls! Lizzie's hair is short like that with a little layering up the back. It is so quick and easy to care for. You'll love it. It washes and rinses fast, it drys fast, it unTANGLES fast, and it styles fast. Even straightening it everyday will not take much time. Oh happy hair! (And Locks of Love will have a hayday will all that curly hair!)
The girls look absolutely gorgeous! I made that same hair cut (chopped off 17 inches) last summer, the day after I got married. Such a relief! I hope the girls love their new hair!
I didn't guess at all what was happening and the results are absolutely adorable. The girls look SO pretty and in the heat of the south - shorter bobbed hair will be a bit easier to maintain. Locks of Love is such a great act of blessing - literally giving someone else your crowning glory - whew! You and Carlos are doing a great job with your children.
I love my family more than life itself.
Thank you for molding them into the amazing girls they are today.
I love you babe.

I love it! They look adorable. But I'm a little biased when it comes to bob's and shorter hair.

OMG they are so cute! One question... did you have to try hard not to cry or were you just over long hair? ~:-)
Posted by: Tracey | May 08, 2008 at 05:24 PM
The curls too? You are a brave woman, I would have been balling. Of course, they both look absolutely adorable! Are they donating their hair?

OK. Allen and I were talking about this in the car on the way home.
"What do you think Heather's gonna do at 4:30 and 5pm today???" Allen asked.
"I don't know, dear. Did she give a time?" my answer.
"Yes. 4:30 and 5. Did she say 4:30 AND 5???"
"I don't know, dear."
I was first to the computer and when I told him what it was, he said,
"I KNEW it was haircuts for the girls!!!!"
:-)
Does it feel weird for other people to be pondering over your life like this???
:-)
