Confessions of a mom
Ok I have to admit, I don't scrapbook, I don't want to scrapbook, I don't like to scrapbook. I went there way back when. You know, when it was the craze to spend a ridiculous amount of money on stickers and paper. I've been there and done it and will never do it again. It's no my thing. This is leading somewhere I promise!
Our small group was getting together for a fun night. The guys were playing poker and the girls were either scrapbooking or knitting. Both up my alley (sarcasm!) I wanted to hang out with the people but sitting around watching people make pages was not my number one thing to do on a Friday night. So to say the least I did not have the best attitude. As we were walking out the door it just clicked. Hey wait... I can bring my computer!
Oh it was so fabulous! It was such a great night as I organized posts and worked on my blog! I felt like I fit in! I have a hobby! Ok time to confess... what's your hobby that you can spend hours doing? H
I don't scrapbook either, just can't get into it. I've tried, just not my thing. I love the computer and blogging, reading, and going for walks in the park.

Not a scrapbook gal either. What I do is write a letter to my sons every six months or so letting them know what kinds of things they are doing, their hobbies, school stuff, height, weight, etc. Then, I print it out and put it in a book with their current picture next to it. I also put my blog posts in there that I write about them.
I want to document their lives, but I'm not the real cutesie kind of mom.
I'd rather write/blog.
If you're ever in town, we could have a blog party :)

I love to go fabric shopping to make dresses or quilts with modern fabrics. It is so fun putting it all together.

What a great idea! I love to blog as well and have been bummed that this just seems to not be the "season" right now with the little ones. I keep trying to find a way to document what's happening... and I have the digital scrapbooking things... but so far, "all" I've done is to write a family newsletter with updates on our family. I also really love to sew "unique" dresses for myself and skirts and dresses for my girls... including tie dye!!

Right now Adoption paperwork and being really stressed is my hobby.

Okay, I admit I actually am a scrapbooker. I just started last year when a friend at church got me hooked on it. But in my defense I have to say that I found some products that are not as cheesy as the scrapbook store stuff. Also I try to do as much journaling as I can so there's more writing and not just pictures and stickers.

One word. READING. However, I love doing a variety of things and started scrapbooking five years ago. But it's one of those things where I go in spurts, three months out of the year I'm all into it and then I don't scrapbook for like a year.I like to keep things simple as well. Where I admire the cutesy, creative things people add in there scrapbooks, I just don't have the creativity or patience for it. So I just slap the photos on the page, sometimes I crop them, add an embelishment or two and I'm done.

Well, I went to college as a journalism major, and now I get my kicks and my paychecks from working in the back of an ambulance. So writing has become the hobby these days. But more specifically; Blog writing is the big hobby. of course, I also do a bit of reading as well (almost constantly) and I love to cook (it's amazing I'm not 500 lbs).

I will confess my hobby is...SCRAPBOOKING! Digital scrapbooking that is! There are no puffy stickers and stamping for me, I do it all on the computer. Not to mention there is NO MESS, my favorite part!
It surprises me that you don't like scrapbooking because you are so creative. Your blog design is amazing and your family night activities are so cute.

Your blog is your scrapbook, my dear.
I feel the same way about paper scrapbooking. I'm so over it.
But digital scrapbooking? That's a different story. Easy and cheap.
Personal hobby? Blogging and all that comes with it.
(Why is it that everything I enjoy doing is on the computer?)

Digital scrapbooking, digital scrapbooking, blogging, and oh yes - digital scrapbooking!
Lots and lots of layouts on my blog. I now create digi-scrapbook pages for other and they pay me too!!
With your gorgeous family and photos, and your creative flair and eye (just look at that sofa you found!) I really think you should give it a go. Get in touch if you want some more info - I did a blog post a while back with what you need, and some great freebie links. (Yes FREEBIES :o) )

I am so not a scrap booker. I love to read, blog and play computer games.

I'm one of those knitters that you sarcastically love. LOL! It's a fairly recent hobby and I'm addicted!

I am an avid paper crafter. An entire room almost 100% dedicated to doing scrapbooks, making cards, or anything with paper and photos!
I have to admit, when I loaded up your blog today, I was super excited to see the scrapbooking photo! However you gently let me down with the hobby / blogging ending.

PHOTOGRAPHY!!!
I did the scrapbook thing but, opposite of most moms I gave it up when I had kids. Coffee table books are my memory collector of choice. One of these days I'll actually being to process pictures of my own kids and begin the process of designing their books :)
With the amount of info you have on your blog you should do a blurb book http://www.blurb.com/create/book/blogbook
love ya!

Despite being creative and crafty, I don't like scrap booking either.
It requires a little more attention to detail and patience than I have. Not to mention the money.
I much prefer using all my imac has to offer, making movies and slide shows of my daughter.
And as far as money goes, I'd rather put it in to my house; painting, texturing the walls, tiling, or buying plants and doing some landscaping.

I was really glad we were all doing something different last night - we were all individuals which I think is totally cool!

So not a scrapbook girl!! I love to take pictures and edit them - I could spend hours with iPhoto and Photoshop. I am not saying I am good, I just enjoy it. One day when the kids are in school I would like to take some classes - until then I just play :)

OK. I just got the best idea. I read Kelley's comment on the blog book, and I've actually been looking for a website that does that, and this one looks good. Here's my idea - you and Jacinda need to get together your family night posts and make a blog book so people can buy it! People like me who need inspiration. You could do more volumes of the book as you do more family nights. Or you could have the website make a bunch, and sell them and make a profit. Or you could sell them on your blog. They would sell really well!

Used to think it was scrapbooking . . . so not my thing much anymore, and I have all the dusty supplies to prove it.
Tried crochet. Ended up in knots.
Thought I could sew, but . . . alas, no.
Writing has always been my secret hobby, but blogging has brought me out into the open.
I like the idea of blogging as a hobby. I'll meet you soon for a bloggy get-together, and we won't even have to look at each other over our laptops : )

Blogging and reading.. Both kinda the same I guess.

It would be eating chocolate or hand embroidery, specifically redwork because the only color thread used is red and that takes the trouble of finding the right color out it so it's easy and relaxing and can be done anywhere!

When we went to adopt, we were very intimidated by the cute lifebooks. Lifebooks are basically scrapbooks about your life the birth mother looks at to see if she wants to place her baby with you. My husband is, among other things, a graphic designer. So, instead of a scrapbook format, he did it on the computer.
Adoption and volunteering for our adoption agency was my hobby for 5 years. Now, I'm into blogging.
