Family Night #9 Goldilocks and the three bears

It all started with this Build-A-Bear gift Sohaila got for her birthday. I wanted to make more of the gift than just making the bears. So my wheels began to turn and I tried to think of what stories had bears in it, and Goldilocks and the tree bears came to mind. And with my luck the present had three bears in it!

The day started with the idea and the girls and I talked through it. We told the story to each other and realized that it would be really fun to do a play of it. So the wheels began to turn again and realized I had my three little bears, and I also have a very dramatic husband so the roles were assigned.

As soon as Carlos got home the kids whisked him away for the transformation.

The girls were so excited to build the set! They made a bed that is to hard, to soft and one just right!DSC_2288  DSC_2365

We did some homework and baking!

love it! great idea for a theme night! :) is that thing in the first pictures like an "at-home" build-a-bear kit? cool.

Too cute for words

that is awesome!!! I may need to "borrow" this idea!!!

Looks like a ton of fun! Carlos as Goldilocks....thanks for my morning laugh!

Those cookies look delicious

OMG!! That is hilarious!

Your family nights kick some serious tail!!!

WOW! I saw Carlos' post and had to come see the rest of the story unfold. Those pictures are awesome! I'm glad he was a good sport! I'm sure those pictures will come back to haunt him many times.

In ten years, when your girls are in high school, You and Carlos are going to be the rad parents that everybody wants to hang out with. I still keep in touch with a friend's parents because they were so much fun during those really awkward years. They loved all of us kids (there were about 30 regulars at their house) like their own!

Could you give us the links for all the family nights? I absolutely love this idea, and would like to share it on my blog!

Keep sharing!

you are a freaking creative genius! best idea ever!

I love ur family nights!!!

WOW! What a great idea... your kids are pretty lucky to have such fun parents! You've inspired me!

Hey, I recognize that dress!! I'm so glad you kept that old thing. I had to look closer when I saw Carlos wearing a dress - and I thought to myself, "does Heather really have a dress that would fit Carlos?" I looked a little closer then yelped when I saw what it was! Good memories...

And your Family Night looked like a hit too. Your kids are so lucky to have you for a mama.

Where do you get your ideas for Family nights? Do you mind if we "borrow them"? Looks like so much fun and a great opp for memory making!

You are such an inspiration! Thank you!

Brilliant creativity! I love it!

omg! seriously how do you come up with this stuff! i absolutely love it, now i just need to have 2 more kids to reenact it!

Awesome! This is great.

I love that you added one of Jacinda's flowers to the wig. It completes the outfit. Just the right amount of bling for Goldilocks.

I love how creative you are with your kids, you have the best ideas. They are so lucky to have you!

Priceless. Just priceless.

that is too cute! and I'm sure Carlos is glad those pics are on the web. What a good sport. I agree with the comment about you writing a book. I think I'm gunna write these ideas down for when I have kids!

That would have totally counted as a school day in our home school.

Such the creative girl, you are!

Oh, THANK YOU HEATHER. That picture of Carlos is priceless. Your girls are going to look back on those pictures and think how awesome their mom was to create such nights, and their dad was to go along with them!

You know these family nights are a compilation book waiting to happen, right?

My favorite part is the big red flower in Carlos' hair! What a great time your family must have.

Where do you come up with all of your great family night ideas? I sat down to try and plan our family nights better and came up with 6 ideas. Pretty sure at least 4 of them I got from you. :)

how often do you have family nights?

This is too cute! LOVE it.

OMG!!!!!!! I don't think I've ever seen Carlos with hair. He makes a cute blonde. RuPaul has nothing on Carlos.

so fun! :)

What great photos and a neat family night idea! The cookies are cute, too.

Love it!

Stop it right now.
