I would wiggle it till it fell out... At my mom's house my sister Beth is known as the dentist.. she will pull their teeth out once they get loose. :)

My dad pulled mine w/ pliers...so WT (white trash) I can not believe he put a rusty pair of pliers in my mouth. Yuck, to even think abt it makes me shiver.

I hope your girl's tooth comes out naturally!

carie

I'm originally from Kentucky. They would tie a string around the tooth, tie the other end to the knob of a door, then slam it! no joke! Because of the draft, though, sometimes it wouldn't close fast enough. So it was great when they started using the oven door instead. I am not making this up. ;)

Toby

My 6 yr old refused to let us pull BOTH of his front teeth when they were barley hanging on. Now, they've settled back into place and he gets to go to the dentist and have them cut out.
Much less painful to pull them now :-)

bigdaddyjer

Pull 'em!

Darcie

I'd wiggle it and wiggle it and be too scared to pull it. That changed when my mom wouldn't let me go to bed one night until she pulled it. I let her because she said if I didn't, I'd swallow it and miss out on the tooth fairy. Worked like a charm.

Tracy Edwards

I always pulled my teeth as soon as they were loose. Now I'm a dentist, so, go figure!

You can go to the drugstore and get Anbesol or some kind of gel for a toothache. Put a little on her tooth and it will numb the gums enough to where she might go ahead and get it!!

There are TONS of kids like her!!

Kaley

Man, my mom used to yank those suckers right out of my mouth!

Charlotte

I would never let anybody do it for me, especially my mom. I would wiggle that thing to death until I lost my tooth. I was independent can you tell.

Susan

I would only let my babysitter pull it. She was a very calm person! The nurse at our school gives kids Laffy Taffy and it does the job!

todd

Oh my gosh! We are in the same boat. My six year old, Jonah, has his first loose tooth right now (same tooth as hers!)

He's wiggling it a good bit, but still scared for Mom to get close.

Adrienne

Gosh, I had superglue baby teeth. I think the dentist pulled every one of them. I hate novacaine. And that little toilet-bowl-looking water-spitter-into device.

Mandy

The longer it stays in, the longer you have to SAVE to pay her for it.

Do you know how much teeth are going for in Granger IN?

$20. That's like $400 in my child's mouth.

Vanessa

My friends and I would tie one end of a string around our loose tooth and the other end to a door or drawer and then slam it shut! It always worked! :) I can't believe we actually did that.

Carrie

I would eat a starburst and it would pop right out!

shan

i was gonna say just let it fall out on it's own, until i read toby's comment...that sounds horrible! i don't think i'll be the one to do the pulling...i'm pretty tough when it comes to most stuff like that, but that's gonna be tough. i'd probably faint. :)

clowe

I hated getting teeth pulled. My dad tried the string and doorknob thing, but I was too smart for that --- i just ran toward the door as soon as it began to close! Mine usually fell out in my mashed potatoes or something rediculous like that.

NANI

STARBURST SOUNDS GOOOOOD---BUT THEN $20.00 BUCKS $$$$$$$$$$$$ OH!!!!!!!!!!!GIVE HER BOTH------LUV N.

My daughter is 5 (starting kindergarten next week) and she has already lost 3 teeth... not due to accidents! :) They just fell out. She lost 2 last October (when she was still 4 years old) and 1 tooth fell out yesterday. We don't pull teeth at our house. We let them hang, and hang, and hang until they finally give up and fall out.
I LOVE to see her shocked expression and the excitement in her voice when they fall out.
Yesterday we were riding down the road and she just started yelling, "MOMMY!!! IT FINALLY CAME OUT!!! WOO HOO!!!" :)

Alison

My mom would do the sneak attack tooth pull! I absolutely hated having my teeth pulled and I get the heebie-jeebies just thinking about it. Then one morning as I was eating breakfast, I opened my mouth to take a bite of cereal and my mom reached from behind and pulled the tooth out! I also lost one biting into an apple.

daphne

I am all about loose teeth right now. My oldest will find a slight wiggle and her and her daddy will get that sucka out within 24 hours. My middle child has had her 2 top teeth loose since last school year and will not let us pull them. Grr.

When she disobeys I make her wiggle her teeth. When she asks for something I make her wiggle first. Any chance I get I make her wiggle because when the bottom 2 were loose, she took so long to be out with the old, the new teeth started growing in.

I have no idea what I did but I love a little kid with missing teeth!

leigh

i'm definitely a wiggler! I can't stand to see teeth just hang...ugh! gross. (funny story) My niece used to hit her teeth with rocks to make them loose and then of course they would fall out which meant...MONEY! she was hilarious!

Celesta

I have to agree with Carie from Kentucky. I'm a Bama girl and we used the door slam method, too. My older brothers loved trying to "help" me get my tooth to come out!

Jenn C

I was a wiggler, but a sissy and wouldn't let anyone pull them. My mom got smart around the second or third tooth, and used to give me tootsie rolls and Sugar Daddies when I had loose teeth. Pulled 'em out everytime. Just make sure to rescue the tooth. :)

Donel

oh my goodness, I dont know what to do when Taylor goes into the tooth thing! I may be an ER nurse. I have had my hand in someones chest massaging their heart, brain matter on my and all other kinds of stuff, but I dont do teeth. They gross me out :)

Jessica Fitzgerald

oh yeah, every time there was a loose tooth, it would hang by a thread. and eventually they all fell out.

Shawn

My friend Tracy Edwards has commented above. She's a great Dentist, who calmed my nerves even at 41 years of age!!! I like the comment also above that says tell her the tooth fairy will not pay for missing teeth, and if she falls asleep she may swallow it, and then it would be missing. :-)

Amy

Wiggle it and wiggle it till it came out but I like the comment about the tooth fairy worked for me knowing the tooth fairy was coming.

Ali Farmer

I am all about pulling it out!

Crazy Daisy

I would have totally wiggled it out!

Renee Garcia

OHHHHHHHH I can't stand seeing them hang! I always pull my kid's teeth out. Maybe that's why they've lost so many?! hahahahaha

Heather Kay

I had to weigh in on this one! I had the TERRIBLE plier experience. I was the oldest and my dad only did it once but I am still scarred. So a trick I do with my kids is try to get them to eat something that will pull it naturally. Apples, Hard bread, laffy taffy etc.

eryn

the only one i had pulled was by a dentist when i was 3 almost 4 in a bike accident. you think i would be brave but no. i just would wiggle it.
this is a fun question!

Jessica

Paper towel, gently squeeze the gum above the tooth and pull. She won't even feel it.

Tasha Via

I am so not ready for that stage of our kids lives yet!! I did fiddle with my teeth until they would fall out, but I can't imagine having to fiddle with someone else's. I can give birth to 2 children, yet struggle with the thought of my kids losing teeth!

Kim

We tried to pull my son's tooth, on & off for 2 weeks. Then finally the not so loose tooth beside it, got knocked out. So then we were able to pull the original REALLY loose tooth.
check out my post about it from June 1 2008 jarrettfive.blogspot.com

I remember two times while working with children at church that they lost their tooth during service. One girl wiggled her tooth and it fell out while she was singing worship and wiggling it at the same time....talk about a bloody worship song...lol. The other girl was playing a game where you put peanut butter on your face and then run to the other side and try and get as many cherios as possible on your face, she lost it while getting cherios on her face....it was sweet!!

Stephanie

I would wiggle it like crazy until it came out! I hated eating with a loose tooth. I was always afraid I would swallow it or something.

Jules

I know it is a sickness, but I love to pull little teeth out. I can't stand to see it dangle there. My poor kids never get the chance to let it "fall out" without a good yank from me.

Shelia

I remember teeth that held on by a string (not sure what that was, a vein? a nerve?) You could literally see space between the tooth and the gum. Totally a wait and let it fall out girl. Not afraid of pain. I given birth three times, done half marathons and a triathlon, and gotten a tattoo. Just can't see any reason for unnecessary pain...
But, I will tell you that when my kids have done that same thing, it does kind of gross me out.
