A Year Ago Today, Losiah Became a Whittaker
So yes a year ago today marks our move, but it also marks the day
Losiah officially became a Whittaker. Our adoption paper work was a
long road and it has officially been 365 days of having that weight off
of my shoulders! What a relief!

Woke up said good-bye to my brother, went to Starbucks with family, mother in law and grandma. Then went to the courts.
He became ours! Legally. And then we went home grabbed our bags and got on a plane to Atlanta. What a day! H
Heather, that is so exciting!! I love adoption. I worked for an agency for a year before I got married, preparing all the dosiers. It never got old seeing the happy pictures of the families with their new additions=)

Congratulations one one whole year! You know, I think the day we brought Carmen into the U.S. was one of the most exciting days ever. So many hopes and dreams! I sure hope we can do this again.

Happy Gotcha Day! Adoption stories are so touching. I noticed a link on Carlos' blog that said something about his son's story. I'll have to go back and read it.
Congrats on getting through a year in a foreign land and your first year as a mom of three!

I remember those days like it was yesterday...I had just gotten canned. I'm at home...Alyssa comes home and tells me she has to go to court. I'm thinking...great I'm fired, and now we're getting sued for malpractice. Sweet. Nope. Ms. Heather needed help throughout the process with moving and adopting so, Alyssa got to go to your house, court, house, court again to finalize papers. Good times.

I remember that day.
I could only imagine how busy and emotional that day was...couldn't believe it happened like that for you guys.
"OH and on the way across country, we adopted our son..."
CRAZY!
But I'm so thankful for it. That boy couldn't have better parents!

On that day I would force myslef to focus on the adoption and not on my family leaving California. Being in the center of God's will is not always easy, but it does help knowing it. I love you and miss you bunches, but is OK, life goes on and God's blessings keep pouring on. We don't have the whole picture.

what a huge day for you guys...I am dreaming of that court day with Molly AND i have been living out your "keep busy" idea. I put together her little kitchen (took me all day)and packed her bag. So far, so good. Did you bring a ton of diapers..or did they send you with plenty?

Awesome. Which agency did you go through? I am trying to talk hubby into it. He wants one more from me and then says I can adopt as many as i want. I have already had four C-Sections. No more. I need a tummy tuck. LOL. I have had a heart for adoption since college. I have been praying for God to change Scott's heart. have a great day!

Congratulations on the 1 year anniversary of Losiah's adoption finalization!!!
I remember each of our kids' finalization days. It was great when we passed each milestone in the adoption process. When we returned home after our son's finalization, I felt like I could breathe again. Until that moment, I hadn't realized that It was as though I had only been breathing from the top half of my lungs for the 9 months between seeing being in the delivery room until the finalization. I could finally relax 100%. He was ours and no one could take him away from us.

Hey Heather--Random information for you. I saw on-line for flights to Fresno that "Northwest Airlines prices this destination at just $200 round-trip on trips taken through August 20, 2009 - and on any day of the week (based on “K” seat availability)". Just thought of your family!
