The North Georgia State Fair
This post is dedicated to the workers, better known as carnies. We decided that there needs to be a reality TV show on them! They were classic!
She was on the phone the entire time our kids were on the ride that SHE was in charge of!
Just in case you were wondering... His shirt said 'SAFETY FIRST' on the back. I was so comforted! :)
Ok so this guy was the man in charge of the Rat Race game we played. I could not understand a word he said. Mark finally had to come over and word by word translate for me. I was in another world tonight. H
"So You Wanna Be A Carnie"
"Carnie Island"
"The Great Carnie Race"
"How NOT To Carnie"
I would love a carnie reality show!

I laughed so hard when I saw the "rat race" picture. We went to the fair on Saturday and my DH actually stopped in front of the booth and asked me if I could understand a word he was saying and I couldnt'. I guess we needed translators too!

HAHA! That is soooo funny. We used to live in Henderson, NC and they had a city fair there. We just never went because we were warned that we might get shot after dark, no lie! Hmmm, sounds like a nice family outing to go on...

I always make sure I take some Hand Cleanser with me to these things. :-)
It's funny how we enjoy going to the fairs, but when we actually get there, some of the sights are, well, let me just say this nicely, "Interesting".

I'm bout to pee my pants!
That is so funny!
So glad that Mark & Stephanie are giving you a true taste of all parts of the south.
Have you ever heard real pickin' & grinnin'?
Like fiddles, banjos... the whole bit playing blue grass?
That's an experience you mustn't miss!
Every Saturday night in Suwanee the Everett Brothers do some pickin & grinnin. It's fo so some true south flavor! You might even get to see somebody buck dancing in the aisle!
Would love to take you to the Everett Brother's Barn one Saturday night!

Gretchin- With traffic in Atlanta, we have to have 3 or 4 a year just to make sure people can get in and out.
Now I'm looking forward to the rodeo up in forsyth county next month... yeeeeeehaw. lol

I love carnies - that is my favorite part about the fair...I like to just stare,(I mean watch)and wonder what life would be like as a carnie.... They remind me of gypsy's. I love how our children must be strapped in a 5 point harness but go to a fair and put them on a rickty ride put together by who knows...and no selt belt!
Glad you had fun!
