The Fresno Fair is a Great Big Fair, Don't Miss it Don't Even Be Late
Oh I was so excited to find out that we will be in Fresno during the fair. It is such a fun thing to do in Fresno, everyone looks forward to it. Jacinda, Brian and my family all went for the day. It was great.
Ok this is not fair food, but we did stop at Dog House before to fill our tummy's with this tri-tip sandwich. Heaven. Really I mean it is so sinful that you just do not care about the consiquences of eating it.
Oh if only I had a video. Just imagine this in real life. I wanted to give the poor mother some vicadine or something for what these little guys were doing to her. Oh my boobs ached for her.
If you go to the Fresno fair, you have to get a cinnamon roll. So good.
Papa came and so did his wallet. So the kids got to do things that they would not get to do with us.
Ok... Whats your thing to do or eat at the fair? H
Grilled corn is number one, and funnel cakes aren't bad either. I love rides, but since I begged God to get me off the last one (our cart felt and sounded like it was going to go airborne at any moment), I only do big amusement park rides and the carousel at the mall.

I'll be there Sunday night with our college group! Should be fun...but I always enjoy the stuff nobody else likes...like the art and photography exhibit.

I am with Anita on the no-rides-that-reside-on-an-18-wheeler-when-not-in-use philosophy. As a matter of fact, the traveling fair just came here last week..."I HATE THE FAIR" was my blog title for that entry. To be fair though I grew in CALI and went to the Orange County Fair and the Del Mar fair...and believe me small town Mississippi does NOT do them right.
Glad you had fun...great pics!!!!

Oh I gotsta have an elephant ear and avoid anything that spins and I may have to throw some darts at a balloon or two and I definitely need a caramel apple...Shall I go on?

I love ALL the rides!! I will ride EVERYTHING! Sadly, my husband will not! But my FAVE to eat would be the fried candy bars! OMG! Talk about sinful!! They take a candy bar that is frozen (my favorite is the snickers) and dunk it in funnel cake batter and then fry it!! The outside is hot and the inside is cold! So good. Our fair should be here in a few weeks! Can't wait!!

Your girls are so brave!!! That ride looked amazing.

I love the scrambler! Or, anything that spins around in circles. Beerocks are my fav! I am going to the Fresno Fair on Sunday. Woohoo!

When we lived in Miami we would go to the Youth Fair every year...specifically for the FOOD!
Roasted corn, elephant ears, cinnamon rolls...it was all delicious goodness.
The rides were okay, but the food was the best.
Now we moved to NC... The fair comes in late October...I hear it's great! Can't wait to see for myself.

I grew up on those cinnimon rolls. I love that you took a picture of them! Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night dreaming about those rolls! Hello. In Texas they serve deep fried oreos! WHAT?
October means Big Fresno Fair!

Basque Chorizo, Indian tacos and a hand dipped corn dog. Not all at the same time of course. MMMmm. and my other favorite part at the fair is seeing the animals. I just don't handle the rides anymore.:)

deep fried foot long corn dog baby! delicious!

Great shots. LOVE the grandparents for enabling our children to do things we can't, won't, don't think to do for them. Fair looks awesome!! That tats were amazing!!
We used to go to the fair every year in Tulsa with J's parents. It was a bit of a tradition. We always rode the ferris wheel, as the kids were too young for anything else. I don't think the fair comes to Chicago...
Are you and Carlos going to be able to run that marathon this weekend? I'm praying for your strength and endurance...But I wonder if the..."intake" this week might counteract my prayers...;->

How fun! I'm a little sad that we aren't going this year, it's just not in the budget, maybe next year. I love the picture of the mama pig. You are much better than I am at getting good shots. I get more acceptable photos than I ever did before, only because I snap away now. When you take hundreds, there is bound to be one decent pic, right?

Isn't that what grandparents are for? My kids would be really deprived if it wasn't for their Papa and Grandma-mama. For reals!
Posted by: Pearmama | October 09, 2008 at 10:48 PM
funnel cake!!!! :) YUM!!
Posted by: alicia | October 09, 2008 at 11:17 PM
The pig is so crazy! The fair here had a poor pig feeding all her young as well....the sounds still haunt me at night...SICK!

We played a show there last year! It was amazing. The highlight for me was the "Krispy Kreme Chicken Sandwiches" they were selling. Friend chicken with a doughnut bun. Incredible..

You got some amazing pictures! I was just in Fresno last week and we were going to hit the fair, but we ran out of time becuase we were so busy!
My favorite part of the fair is the Midway. I love playing the games and trying to win cheesy stuffed animals for my kids. It's by far the best part for me!

Oh, that made me miss the Fresno Fair. I think I was in Jr. High when I last went and I always loved it so much. But since I haven;t been there since I was a kid, I remember that I always liked going into the rock display and getting a bag of polished rocks. And the giant pickles. And seeing a cow being born. Ah, the fair

Toasted cheeseburgers. It's grilled cheese meets burger and it is delicious. Our fair was just a few weeks ago and I had sticker shock (and morning sickness) so I didn't partake. I'm liking the sound of a cinnamon roll though.

Heather! You are killing me with these food posts! LOL! I just love people who post pictures of food...we would get along in real life. :)

I have a fair itinerary! First you get the soft tacos since they are by the enterance, then a corn dog, then a cinnamon roll, and then another soft taco! MMM MMM MMM! I LOVE The Big Fresno Fair!!

Definitely a corndog. But not just any corndog. You have to look around and find just the right one. We went to the Fresno Fair when I was little and you could buy a lizard on a string that you pinned to your shirt. We also bought tiny turtles. Now my favorite exhibit is photography.

My roommate is from Modesto, and she sings the praises of the Tri-Tip steak--she has looked around the Midwest for this particular cut of meat and can find nothing even remotely close.
She cries a lot.
glad to see the fair was fun!

I REALLY loved hanging out with you on Tuesday! I wish it could be more often!!!!
You are such a treasure & I know I could learn so much from you! One day!
Oh, fair food. Fresno, corn dogs. Seattle, scones with jam. AWESOME!
XOXO.

Girl!
You have some SERIOUS photog skills!
I love the pictures!
I love the fair IF it actually feels like fall -- cool, crisp air with the smell of fresh straw and sawdust.
Funnel Cakes are a once-a-year MUST and I love getting roasted corn on the cob.
I used to ride EVERY SINGLE ride, but now I only ride big amusement park rides (too many news-hour stories about traveling carnie rides!).
But seriously, GREAT pics!
